A Prayer

Picture from 1930s, named ” A Prayer”

It is said, that one photo can say more than a thousand words. Looking at that picture I realize this saying is so true. I see wrinkled hands crossed on old family Pible for a quiet ponder – telling a story about Estonian housewife`s life full of hard work and busy doings. These hands have tendid, hackled and fondled her children and domestic animals, nursing the sick, running a household, toiled on the fields and meadows. It is Sunday, a woman and an ancient scripture – to ask for loved ones, to obtain the strength for the soul and support – just like her mother, grandmother and great-grandmother long before her.
